Traffic commissioners Sarah Bell, Nick Denton and Kevin Rooney will be redeployed from 31 October 2016.

The moves follow the appointment of Nick Jones as the first, full time Traffic Commissioner for Wales by the Welsh Government.

Mr Jones will vacate his role as Traffic Commissioner for the West Midlands when he takes up the appointment on 01 October 2016.

As a result, Mr Denton will be redeployed as the Traffic Commissioner for the West Midlands, based in Birmingham.  Miss Bell will become the Traffic Commissioner for London and the South East of England, based in Eastbourne and Mr Rooney will be redeployed as Traffic Commissioner for the West of England, based in Bristol.  Mr Rooney will retain his role as Traffic Commissioner for the North East of England in the interim.

The changes will officially take effect from 31 October but transitional arrangements will be made during the month of October to prepare for the redeployments and ensure that licensing and regulatory activities are not affected.
